I had one that would do that once in a while we took a bar and tapped the shifting rod where it enters the tranny and it would go back to neutral. long term solution I don't know. Good luck

My M2 got stuck in 2 gears. I had to stop the engine and make sure there was no pressure on the trans,then I was able to go on right side where shifting rods are and get it out of gear. After I did this all I had was 1st and reverse. Hi-lo wouldn't work so I had to drop the trans. I had a broken shift fork. Installed a new one and no more problems. Trans is not hard to take out if you have a floor jack. I did this by myself but, an extra person is needed to steady trans as it is removed and reinstalled. Good luck T3
