Pretty sure that the l4 was made in mexico. I've seen pictures of them and they look like a cheap machine. I dont think they made very many of them because nobody liked them, dont think they made over 20 of them, very rare to find. If I were you I would look for a good 86 or 87 l3 and stay away from that mexican made stuff. Just my 2 cents.

I heard on earlier post that the l4 was made in Mexico, the early models were still USA parts and were put together pretty good, but as parts were used up things started to take different shapes and the quality perception was not good.

IF you find one let us know. I do not think you will. That is a challenge :) I think less than 4 machines ever made it across the border alive.IJ

The l4 machines were produced in 1990 and 1991 by A-C Mexicana, in the old allis lift truck factory in Mexico city. Swenson Equipment in Minot ND, was the main distributer. They had no affiliation with Gleaner, there is approx a half dozen in Sask, and Alberta ,I'm unsure about US sales. They were green stripe, light grey interior and had a 5.9 liter Cummins, and all other components were the same as late l2's and l3's

I did find an l4 in Saskatchewan about 3 years ago that was for sale. It had 800 hours. Have not seen anymore since. I did not know there was only a handfull of these machines around. Thank you all for your input.
