We put one on our 94 R62 and it took a couple of days, its not too hard it just takes time. This one was the first style they had so we ordered it and put it on to give it a try. I imagaine you are debating putting on the new one which is somewhat different, we have one of those too but it was factory installed so I am not sure how much different it would be for installation. The lateral tilts are a big help in soybeans and it does make the corn head a little easier to run. If you have any draws or ditches you will really like it. If you have any specific questions just let me know and I will try and answer them.

What was the cost of the lateral tilt system that you added yourselfIJ Can the new system be added to a 1994 R-72IJ How well did the first lateral tilt systems that Gleaner (Hart-Carter) made work. I have heard that there was a feeding problem in the throat area with this early model, but don't know if that was trueIJ I am thinking about adding it to my machine if it is possible. Thanks for the info.

When we installed the Hart Carter on our 1994 R62 it was about 3200.00, if i remember right. And yes there was some feeding problems with this unit but we solved that by building a 6 inch feeder drum so that we could get the drum to the same dimension from the auger as the new system. Other than that it has worked fairly well about the only other problem we had is hammering out the springs in the hydraulic valve that runs the unit. Its easy to fix once you know what the problem is. I find the hart carter easier to set and run than the new system. The new style is a lot harder to get set right. I am not sure if this system can be installed on that feeder house you would have to check with the company. I think it would run into quite a bit more money than the hart carter, because it involves more changes to the machine than the older style.

Would you suggest to leave tention drum sucked into the housing far enough that it would clear 4" flighting installed beyond center line of fingers. Didn't you install that 4" on a couple of prior to 700 and 800 headsIJ
