I have the same trouble but I think they are coming in around the hydro opening and the other side of the machine.I wish gleaner would have done a better job of sealing those areas off. It always gets worse if the wind is blowing hard enough from the rear to bring trash across the machine. I am sure one could get some screen there and stop some of the problem.

We have eliminated the problem by using a corn chaffer sieve that has the last 2 rows of louvers cut out (can do this on your present one). Blocking the rest of the openings by the screen can make the problem worse as well. When the screens all plug with leaves you can starve the fan for air.

If you do not have a screen under the combine to keep trash from being sucked up from under the combine into the fan - that will do that. If you are running the top chaffer and bottom sieve closed too much - that will happen. I run my fan wide open with the top sieve wide open and the bottom is more than manual suggests. I have almost a perfect sample and I am not putting anything out the back. The Gleaner seems to like more air than other makes.
