How much did you give for the R50IJ I have been dealing on a few in Southern Minnesota from 40-50k with 8 row corn, and 20' bean head. They all had between 2100 and 2600 hours.
I bought an R-50 last year and ran it in Spring Wheat along with my l2. The motor in mine had been cooked- all the heads cracked and 3 cyl. liners scored, so I know it was lacking power, still it would cut 400 bushels of wheat for every 250 the l2 cut. Re-did the motor last winter and a few hints.
I have an R50 and I do not think you will find it hard to operate. The book that came with the combine has alot of good info, this web site has a great deal of help. Read the tips and updates, I have not used all the updates, but what I have used has been right on the money.
We have a 1989 R50 loaded, 1800_1200hrs., and looks like new, you won't find a nicer one. comes with a 630 corn head, and a 315 flex. Could send you some pictures. We would like to get $45K or best offer. Dad quit farming. located near Madison, Wi. Need to sell this month!!!!!
