leveling_checking concaves has always been an "Operator's Manual" item for all brands of conventional combines. Even the Deere manuals recommend checking and resetting 94, 5, 6xx walker concaves annually. Therefore, I never expected anything different when I purchased my 485R, no matter the technology used, and check this feature annually, having to make very, very limited adjustements. It is always those who do not check their concaves annually, and make the necessary adjustments who end up with problems threshing and adjustments having to be made. I have even had Deere conventionals, straight from the factory arrive with concaves out of adjustment. So, I always check them (no matter the brand),even though the factory checked them, as well as maybe the dealer, to ensure they are ture...they are just too easy to check and adjust to simply leave alone. Besides, practice makes perfect, with no complaints from us about the lexion.
