Whats all the fasination with bigger and faster machines. Years ago hundreds lived well off of a thousand acre plantation. Now a man with only a thousand acres has to find winters work to pay for his machines. Farmers are the only animal that self improves themselves into bankruptcy. My neighbour with the MF 300 is on a carribean cruise right now!

I think the first thing you would need is a stronger frame under the machine to support the weight. Then you would need a wider feeder house to support the weight. Then you would need a stronger rear end to support all the weights you would need to keep the rear of the machine on the ground. Then the feeder house drive pulley would need to be beefed up to a four or five groove to deliver the horsepower needed to drive 50% more row units. Then an additional lift cylinder would need to be added unless you had the new heavy duty ones with the large ram. Then the entire clean grain elevator would need to be revamped since the current one is not good enough to carry eight rows of good corn now. Just my two cents.

I doubt it will be that quick, unless you're talking yellow version.

Amen to that. But in reality it was cheaper to trade for what we needed than to make the old one work. 2388 12row head = 3200 bu_hr hope your wagon jockeys are ready for that.
