I wonder where the price of pre-owned lexions will settle or are for that matter. We are located in Central Canada and had previously owned both JD and NH conventionals. Prior to our purchase of the two 480's, we always had JD, Case or NH at the farm wanting our combine business. This has not been the case since the lexions arrived. While we are not unhappy with the 480's, it appears that our local dealers NH, Deere and CIH are not at all keen to consider these units on trade. We have made overtures to two brands that we would like to trade, as we usually keep combines two years, about 500 hours and then upgrade. The only dealer that was kind enough to at least talk to us was a large NH dealer in western Manitoba who would not be an option as we are committed to deal as close to home as possible. The cost to trade with the folks at Cat is certainly a lot more than our neighbours are trading for on same year, equal hour, equal option, equal brand and I'm hoping that we have not painted ourselves into a corner where it will cost us a whole bunch if we choose to make a move. The folks at Cat have been good to us but we also have a very good working relationship with the other three dealers in town. I'm just a little concerned that the real values of the lexions are far less that I would have expected. Any thoughtsIJ By the way, great forum, great folks. Happy New Year.
