Combines lexions

I wouldn't compare them to the CNH deal yet. Compared to the other major mfg's. Claas and Agco were the two that made money last year, and we all know the Cat dealers make money all the time. The Cat dealers in my area have all received new shipments of lexion combines over the past couple weeks. I know four neighbors who have recently taken delivery of new lexions as well. I would say that most Cat dealers now see the added opportunity in remaining in ag with both Claas and Agco supporting them, as well as Cat. Those three combined will make the Cat dealers very strong in ag, as well as support them in becoming more ag oriented_farmer friendly (I have not had any trouble with them not being farmer friendly yet). The Cat dealer in my area recenlty opened a new ag store, not one piece of construction equipment accept for a backhoe or two and skid steers and tele-handlers, but there are quite a few new challengers and lexion combines.

I live in Kansas! Not only can I not get ahold of a new Cat combine, I can't find a dealer within the surrounding states that knows anything about the new Cat machines or Cat lease programs. Wheat harvest is only weeks away and I'd sure like to find something. Any thoughtsIJ

Redman, your comments are appreciated and accurate. I've spent alot of time around the lexions and also the red and green ones. The lexion APS and cylinder do an excellent job feeding, prethreshing and threshing crop early. Separation is pretty intense back in the two rotors. At the same time, the synchronized APS, cylinder and discharge beater, along with the parallel concave arrangement keeps things from getting overly agressive. There is fantastic adjustability in the lexions, resulting in good grain quality, all crop performance and amazing capacity, especially shines in tough conditions. Granted, no one likes to see so many belts, but on the otherhand, after running a lexion for a few seasons, you realize that the drives are well designed and very reliable. And like you said, belt problems, if they occur are pretty easy to diagnose and replace if necessary.

Well that all sounds great but ive had some experiences with the local agco dealer i guess you would say in altofer up in clinton il.. And thats reason enuff not to buy one The case dealers around here have been really great to us and id have a really hard time leaving a company that's treated us this good I as well don't like the cabs and all the belts glad you guys are haveing luck with them and have a good harvest....No matter what color you choose

You have hit the nail on the head here. It is my belief that the iron will sell itsel reguardless of what color paint it wears. What keeps the customer coming back thru my door is the ability to keep the iron running in the field making money with parts and service support. Get it fixed right the first time and there will be no arguments about the price of the bill. Spend a little time and money in the off season the virtually eliminate down time int he field. JMHO

Have you had many "greens" being traded for the "yellers" yetIJ If you work for the dealership which I think you work for (in Ontario) I was at one of your demos near Palmerston last year. I would concur that the lexion was one impressive machine.

Something else is just how dependable and how the 2388's weve had in the last 10 years have been very very dependable. we run 2 and we might have 2-3 things (small) problems each year and we run alot of acres threw them. We have one main dealer with case but a few others we have visited and got some parts and machines from have been good to us as well I can walk in and say..up above this part in the combine there's a deal that looks like...(and just give a general description of what im looking for and they seem to be very sharp and know what im needing Something else...the GPS Programs and software also the touch pad monitor work wonderfull Weve been running these since case got big on AFS the monitors have held up well and im happy with the accuracy of the data it reads out.. Especially with the moisture sensor being located in the clean grain elevator (or return) i can't remember Also AFS Support is very very good so i'll give them a thumbs up Again good luck with whatever you use...but no reason to change if your really happy with a company and its machines..

If one machine would be better then ohthers it would be one and only like the Windows. Just my two cents.
