I worked for a deere dealer for nine year almost soley working on combines. I never saw a bearing failure on a final drive. I do recommend checking for end play in the axle shaft every year and keep it adjusted properly. The only failures were teeth breaking off on ring and pinnion finals and on the planitary final the axle shaft falling out because of the bolt breaking which holds it in.
