Combines long shoe vs short shoe

Check, I thought all the 1991 1680's were already long shoe. If it is a long shoe it need the crossflow fan though, from what I understand. Chads

i believe the machine is a 1991, we have not looked up the serial number, but it is definitely a short shoe

beh, I think if it has the short shoe it would be a 1989 or older. But if it actually has only 944 hrs. it can't be hurt to bad if it was taken care of.

My 1990 has a short shoe

west illini, Have you looked at the web site that has the history of the axial flow combine. Acording to that the long cleaning system came out in 1990 on the 1680. There is a lot of good information on that site if it is all correct. Here is a link to that site. K.A.

if going to different combine and had a choice i would go to a long sieve speciality rotor set up right. if it is set up right ! i have so many guys bringing me units that other dealers would,nt or could,nt or just don,t know or if not let enough time are not setting them up right .i don,t know .if have any questions i might be able to help! email at marlinj@mts.net
