Combines long sievesIJIJIJ

I have a 97 2188. I got a hole in the bottom pan underneath the clean grain sieve. A junk of it went into the fan, a real expensive mess. Also, before that, my clean grain sieve shook apart and went all through the combine, 1400 hrs on machine, not very impressed with this combine.

Minnesotaboy, I don't remember the year or model but at the same time I think the spreaders were dropped and enlarged to catch the chaff off the sieves and the crossflow fan was introduced along with heavier shaker arms_bushings. The longer sieves help in high yielding situations like corn. In soybeans I close the front section (12"IJ) of the top sieve.

I put a brand new steel clean grain sieve in, and put a new, seems like heavier, steel pan underneath the sieve. Also replaced the fan with a brand new unit. Been good so far.

Got the steel sieve from the dealer. I'm going to try a air foil chaffer sieve next year. Waiting to here about availability for this year.

not sure of the 1st year, but I had a '91 1680 w_ long sieves. It still had the old style paddle fan in it, however.
