Green, There are cylinder extensions attached to the bottoms of the cylinders on feeder-houses with rock traps. You probably could by at a salvage yard or have some made that were not as long. You would need to first remove the cylinder pins and raise the feeder house with a jack and make sure nothing binds and find out how much extra travel would be allowed. Also when you use a grain head you would lose down travel. I really like you second idea, a 1063 or 1083 corn head are a great investment! CW

I think you would be pleased with going to the CIH heads even if you went back all the way to the 800 series.Massey makes a good head too, but you would see advantages in down corn and travel speed and the stalks are more shredded.

It is that way on a 2188 as well. With the face plate at factory, it lifts the snouts about 2 ft off the ground. We have a rocktrap.
