Combines looking for a planter

look real hard at CaseIH 900 and newer and White 6000 series, both convert from crop to crop without much changes made. Deere and Kinze finger pickups take alot of maintenance due wear and don't change from seed to seed as easy. The air_vacuum planters are the way to go for simplicity and White's accuracy is n1.

Jackshaft, I'll agree with John on the accuracy of the White planter, there are several guys around here that run them and they rave about the ease of setting them and switching from one crop to another. local Agco dealer just set up a new 12 row White planter with a Morris Air cart. looks like they mate together well! As for the case I haven't been around them at all so I can't help you there. Also, while I've got your attention, do you still have your R-5IJ I've got an N-7 with a similar processor setup (channel bean helicals),and I was wondering how you got along and if your rotor loss was acceptable. Thanks and good luck planter shopping! DAB

John and DAB gave you good advice. I have a Case 900 12 row because I am too lazy to carry seed bags to a dozen seed boxes. The Cyclo is easy to fill from any bulk source. My neighbors who have White planters are extremely happy with them. I would buy a White except for all those little seed hoppers. There are many used planters coming into Minnesota from Illinois. But most of the ones I have seen are completely worn out. Tom in MN

I have an IH 950 and like it real well also am too lazy to fill all those seed boxes. They all say spacing is a problem with these planters but I havent had a problem. I read in Farm Journal the world champ in yield from Ill uses a 1981 Cyclo. Im not that impressed with JDs vac planter and I havent heard any coplaints on White planters.

I have a John Deere 7000.Would not buy another John Deere.Allways replacing bearings among other things and it does not space seed that good.Hear alot of good things about the white.I would like to hear more about the new 1200 CaseIH.So far it sounds great but a used one would be hard to find unless you look for a demo, probably still cost a bundle.Good luck.
