Combines looking for correct location for block heater

I never did find the block heater location for the N7 that I had. I took some fittings and inserted it in a heater hose down low on the block. I think it was behind the coolant filter area. Worked great, just put it on a clock so it will come on 3-5 hours before you need it. You will need a cross fitting (4 threaded connections). I used the factory heating element. I don't own the machine any more so I can't send you a picture. Kelly

I put a factory block heater in my R7. It screws into block right above the oil filters. You take out a allen plug and screw in heater. That plug can be a real pain to take out as it probably has never been out before.Once installed If you plug it in for two hours engine starts up great and the smoke doesnt block the sun! I needed it for sunflower harvesting here in North Dakota as it gets real cold at night already. JOHN

Hello Kelly, I'm still trying to visualize the connections for the "cross". I can understand splicing the "cross" into the lower heater line, but can't figure out where the other two connections go. If one of the four crosses holds the block heater, where did the final connection lead toIJIf I am unable to find the allen plug where R7 suggested, your idea would be pretty simple if only heater hoses have to be cut.

Hello John, Will look for the allen plug location in the next couple of days. I was afraid there would be an expansion plug to punch out (with the resulting mess). No, there has never been any plug taken out; will make sure I have a good_large allen set on hand (and lots of time).

The heater goes in bottom hole. Heater hose goes in left and right side of cross and I forget where I put the top of the cross into. Went into block somewhere I think. Kelly

We were having starting problems with our R50. I turned the key to the dead spot between run and start (were there is nothing on in the cab and the engine isn't cranking over)counted to five then cranked the engine and it fires right up. Hope this helps if you have any questions email me at tsloan@shaw.ca.
