Combines lOOKING FORGRAIN TANK EXT for 9750

You know that you are looking at potentially having nearly 27,000 lbs in that 450 bu tank when full in good cropIJ You also know that your axles and final drives aren't rated for that kind of weight and stress, don't youIJ You also know that, unless your machine is already out of warranty, you are probably going to end up having your warranty made null and void due to the "assumption" that the 450 bu. tank was the root of whatever it was that happend to your combine (you won't win against a territory rep)IJ Also, if you plan on rolling this combine, how should the second owner take it that his used machine was hyper stressed and damage resulted after he took receipt of itIJ

First, It isn't my machines. Second, if a customer want to buy something, you sell it to him or he buys it somewhere else. Third customers are well aware of what a larger hopper can possibly do to a machine, they are not dumb. Fourth, in our area, we have never had any kind of a failure of frames, rims, or final drives from hopper extensions on newer machines. Actually have seen more final drive and rim problems on older 9600 with factory extensions. Your area and conditions are probably different than ours. last, most customer will request an extension on the machine, although a few do request a machine without one. Have a great day!

Most all of the machines out here in the NESD are ordered without the extensions and have Maurer extensions put on. They are the only way to go. I asked one of the guys at our large-scale dealership about this the other day if they have had any problems and he said that he hasn't heard of anyone ever having any trouble. Guys have been putting them on since the 7720s and haven't had any trouble. I sometimes wonder if you guys that yap about trouble with these extensions are the same know-it-all farmers who sit at the coffee shop and whine about their jobs all morning.

I know tank ext. are very common......My oppinion is most combines I see have too small of tires to compensate. I have posted this before........How many of us run 35 lbs in the tiresIJ Who would want toIJ The tire manufacturers need to step up, and the consumer needs to realize what he_she is doing to the ground.

All of the bigger sts combines but a few that go the cheap route come with the heavy duty plantaries and the heavy feederhouse lift. They are capable of handling an 18 row 20" corn head which is a very heavy head. What's the difference if you only run like say a 12 row 20" head and have an extra 100 bu. of grainIJ Very little. A 30.5x32 or duals are enough to handle this load along with any tires bigger than the stock 9500 tires on the back. It's not like that load is up there all day. Usually in good corn, you take on that much load for about 3-5 minutes at the most. Some people just need to let the bug crawl out.

All NEW john deere combines since the 9500-9860sts come from the factory with a grain tank extention. Deere has NEVER offered from the factory a deduct option for grain tank extentions. Its true 95% of out customers will put a mauer extention on that is why all the dealers have stockpiles of factory extentions outback.

All sts combines since they were introduced have come standard with heavy duty final drives, with the exception of the 9560sts where they are not offered. deere went away from the planatary option with the introduction of the 50series combines. the cost was to high compared to the heavy duty option.

Just FYI: firestone radial 16ply 30.5X32's rated max. load @ 30psi is 13,200 lbs. I think you may be overestimating just how light that combine with 450 bu. of corn (25200 lbs. just for the corn) with a 12 row corn head really is. I can't imagine the compaction in soft ground. GS

There is a difference between 9650 and 9750 grain tank tank extensions. 97's flare out like aftermarket ones do and it makes them hold 50 bushel's more than a 9650 does . That's what i'm looking for. I've had after market extensions on a couple other machines and they worked well and did the jod they were suppose to. I can see where they would break stuff if you didn't use common sense. Some people may abuse there equipment but i guess thats there right. I've had a couple of tires blow out around the bead and i'm sure it was because of the 300t bushel's it was packing around but that was my choice to do so.
