Combines lower clean grain auger trough

any thin metal we use galvanized rolled slightly and rivited thru bottom, just changed ours on the 2188 after harvest it was simple with screens out, good luck!!!!!

I was kind of thinking stainless. Then it won't have to be done ever again. Machine as 3100 eng hrs now. One of those projects I don't want to have to be in a rush while doing. No holes yet, and seamed solid yet when tapped with a pry bar. But rather be safe than sorry

we recondition used combines for resale. in our neck of the woods, auger troughs can rust out in 3 years. stainless doesn't last any longer. we use UHMW plastic and put it in everywhere grain can lay. recently took on trade a combine we did in '92, and the plastic is still as good as new. this plastic is called "wear resistant plastic" to us ordinary folk and in the plastic trade just ask for UHMW. don't use the 1_2 weight stuff. On my 1660, I noticed pin holes in it when harvesting corn. I just brazed the holes and last winter I took it out. i noticed that it wasn't worn at all but it was rusting through. I took a section of gin pipe and riveted it on top of the pan. I did paint the trough before i put the pipe in to keep it from rusting any more.
