od send me your email I'd like to talk sieves too! Did you ever have a dresser drawer that didn't slide very wellIJ Keep that thought in mind. Now measure from the auger bed shaft to the hanger bushings on each side. If they aren't the same the drawer won't slide, it will bind. Apparently at the factory they punch the holes in the panels THEN weld them in to the chassis of the combine. MY opinion is that they should weld the panels in then install a fixture or jig into the chassis and drill the holes out for the hanger bushings. I've had to weld these holes up and redrill. Also when checking put 5_8 threaded rod through the hanger holes and with a nut and washer on each side of the panel tighten the nuts and see if the threaded rods look straight across and the ends of the rods touch in the middle of the combine. If they angle up or wherever you may be able to heat the sheetmetal around the threaded rod and straighten the sides of the combine where the bushing has to tighten up to. this is because the sides are welded in crooked (not parallel) Use a framing square to help decide what and where the problem is. I know it's not a drawer and you shouldn't have to be a cabinet maker but they work so much better if the sieves are square and parallel. We all know how to break a steel wire by bending it back and forth. How many times do the sieves go back and forth in a dayIJ If they flex just a little they'll crack. lOl
