Combines M M2 Engine Change

The 2900 and the 649T are the same engine, the 649T is just a newer version and may have piston cooling that the 2900 doesn't have. I would highly recommend that the 649I be put into the M series. All that involves is getting the innercooler from another M_l or 7020 engine. The engine will give more power and run cooler with it. My M2 and 7020 had the 649I and ran great. Much better than the 2900_649T in my 7000 and 190XT

Thanks for your reply, I don't have much of a choice, the 649T is shot, I will have to put the 2900 into the M2. So what you are saying is that everything can be unbolted, the blocks switched and everything on the M2 (649T Engine) will bolt up to the 2900. Is this correctIJ Thanks for your help. Walt

Yes, there were differences from year to year with the cooling_waterpump and outlet locations but that can always be switched as well if there is a problem. Same goes for alt mount. The basic block is the same.
