Combines M2 cylinder balance

My K2 did the same thing in wheat and oats, I cleaned all the buildup on back of rasp bars and it didn't help either. Have owned machine for a little over a year and when I popped the trap door to clean cylinder I noticed bars were exceptionally good condition, no dings etc. I thought maybe previous owner had put new ones on and paid no attention to making sure bars were put on in pairs with matching weightsIJ Just a thought but if you get some more ideas here I will try them too and let you know if they help mine as well. Mine shook pretty bad in the steering wheel, somewhat less after cleaning and not detectable at all with slow speed sheave for corn_beans.

Clean the bars ,take the drive belt off and spin by hand,if balanced when it stops it should not rock back and forth.Do this several times,if it stops in the same place each time you can use washers on the opposite bar to balance,or pull the bars in pairs and have them weighed and balanced.

Rick, You didn't say if you have a chopper on the machine. If you do and if it is out of balance it can be hard to tell if it is it or the cylinder. I had to balance a chopper once as it was shaking the whole machine. Remove the chopper belt and check. Just a thought. Steve

Thanks for the help. After a thourogh cleaning I found a stack of weights bolted to the side of the cylinder. With cylinder spining free, I kept reducing weight until it would stop without rocking back. It now runs 100% better. Thanks again !! Rick M.

Try shutting the machine off and the engine off go around to the cylinder drive belt and pulling it back and forth a few times seems to work for me.
