Not a bad job at all.dont pull the elevator!!! that would just add work. just remove all the belts from both ends of shaft. remove bolts around bearing housing on left side.remove sheave for unloader (left hand threads).drive shaft out left side and catch the sheave on the right hand side. be sure and have torque sensor reconditioned at the same time.put together in reverse. goodluck

removing the shaft this way is the easiest way to replace bearings. you can remove elevators and everything else but is a lot more work than the couple belts and 3 bolts on left hand side. it will also allow you to check left hand bearing and replace if needed. the torque sensor is the 2 cams and spring that keep the belt tensioned properly. vstk

Any body faced with driving a shaft or shifting an obstinate part may like to try this tip! When driving shafts or anything else of this nature, use a big heavy, long lump of hardwood timber, say 20-30kgs in weight. Something similar to the battering rams of old! We use a 3 or 4 ft long section of very solid railway sleeper. The weight and inertia of the timber will often shift shafts and etc where sledge hammers and etc merely belt everything out of shape. The timber, usually, will not distort the machined metal ends of shafts as well. We always try this before we ever [ rarely ] go near a sledge hammer. Cheers!
