Combines M2 Raddle disaster

Went through that last summer on an l2 - first make sure you absolutely have all the bolts out that hold that pan (there are some that are very hard to see and get to that we cut off with the torch),and the chain out of the way of course. We did the 4 wheeler_come-along thing, along with hitting it from behind through the inspection doors. We unpinned the two rams and jacked the feeder house out of the way also. Getting the new floor in is not exactly a walk in the park either - especially getting some of those bolts back in. Good luck!

Replaced one broken 5_16" front mounting one time and just that gave me fits. Have a suggestion, don't know if it would work or not. After the front idlers and brackets, the raddle shaft, and all the bolts and screws (l2 has 4-5_16" bolts and 12-5_16" screws) are removed, what if you would put two pieces of 4x4 4-5' long in the separator on top of the chute long ways. Then cut some blocking to fit cross ways and use two small bottle jacks to spread the housing slightly. A 1_4 inch might make a big difference. If you can move it an inch all the bolts are surely out. I guess after 20 years that chute likes where its at. I've seen bearing races like that.

To remove Iused a cable ratchet hoist hooked to a tractor out front. Got new raddle bottom made at local metal fab. shop for $125 Can. Rolled each end and angle iron for sides .Welded all 5 pieces together anddrilled a.irons to match .Got new pointed fender bolts at auto supply. To install - welded loops on length of pipe and 4 ft. T handle put pipe thru inspection holes .tied ropes to new bottom andloops on pipe andwound it in. TO remove pins from sprockets I drilled a dimple in head of a pin punch and used an air punch to hit it. CAUTION - drive sprockets can be installed 1_2 tooth out .line up teeth as well as pin holes.Other notes- be sure you find all bolts and remove. Weld front roll on top and rear roll under main sheet. longer fender bolts help get them started to screw in. Easest way to remove bearings is torch. Good luck.
