I will preface this by saying this is what we did on a l2 and I am not sure if it is the same on a M and M2, but here it goes. Had the same thing happen when bearing went out on l2 new fan was very expensive, but had a used fan out of a l that was much cheaper. If I remember right the fan itself was exactly the same size, but the shaft that stuck out on the pulley side was shorter. We took that pully turned it around and redrilled the set screw holes. After doing this we could just barely get the pulleys to line up but it worked well and neighbor is still running it this way today. This was several years ago, So I hope I am not forgetting anything, but I am sure you will figure it out when you get into it. Hope this helps Kirk

Do you remember if the sprocket on the left hand side of the machine was right or left hand threadIJ Thanks, Part-time

On the F2 it's right hand. If the fan turns clockwise it's right hand. The way I figure out which way to take off a threaded sprocket is which way does it turn to drive the shaft because thats how the sprocket stays tight.

Your right and that's the same way I usually figure it but the thing didn't want to budge easy. Finally got the fan out and ended up switching all the fins from the M fan to the M2 fan shaft. The fan for the M had the sprocket welded on and I had to cut it off to get it out of the machine. Thanks for all the help. What a way to start the season. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. thanks again, Part-time
