You definitely have a problem of some sort. I have a M2 and can do 3.5 mph in 50-60bpa soybeans with no sweat and not even detecting any loss. I would check your chaffer what style do you have, check how far you have it open. I decided to go with a 3_8 round hole bean sieve this year verses the adjustable sieve. I can say enough good things about it even with weeds all in the beans it produces the cleanest sample I've seen in beans. I would try stopping the machine while combining, just shut it off and see if your sieve is overloaded or your not getting enough air. As far as that cookie sheet goes I was under the impression that you only wanted to use that in small grains such as wheat. Check to make sure your fan belt or pulleys aren't worn out. I have been using the 1 1_8 round ended Chaffer...I also have a 1 5_8 chaffer which I always use on corn. I have never tried it on beans. Which Chaffer do you runIJ My fan belt and pullies are good. The fan housing is clear..I can throw the beans and the trash over the back with the fan open to 7..When I start to close the fan, I start to plug the shoe...Seems like more trash should be getting up to the walkers...My dealer says to close the adjustable end on the chaffer all the way down to give a blast of air more toward the front of the shoe..The book says not to do this but the dealer says its the way to go...Thanks again..

Sounds very much like the problems we were having with our m2,the problem Ithink is at the front of your machine, 1st make sure that there are no filler bars in your cyl. 2nd make certian your rasp bars are not worn out,if they are replace them. as for the concave opening set it by the book,I suggest you start wide and keep bringing it down so just to get all the beans out of pods. If you mantain close to book settings on all else you should be ok.. If you have filler bars in cyl. and worn rasp bars it chews the stalk up and plugs the back of machine nad therfore put your beans back on the ground.Believe me if you have filler bars take them out and throw them away, Hope this helps

I agree with the others regarding filler bars. Throw them away so you arent tempted to use them again if you do corn, beans, wheat, or oats. I dont know about other crops. Missing louvers in the walkers can let too much trash down to the shoe. The screen above the separator raddle should be half up or all the way up in beans to put more material on the walkers. As others mentioned, the fan belt is really important. later l_M series had another hole or maybe it was a bracket to give the spring more tension. I always have better luck in corn_beans if the shoe screens are covered. Screens impede flow of material to the shoe augers. If all else fails there is a raddle speed up kit that will move more material onto the walkers. Tom in MN

I would do like Tom says and check the front of the walkers, they have a tendency to break from vibration. I'm not sure on our chaffer but I know that we are willing to try any combination of settings to get more through the shoe faster, as this is the biggest limiting factor on these machines in my opinion. Trial and error is the best way to find the solution. let us know what you come up with, Curt

One of the walkers has the front 1 foot section missing. It is the far left one.The others are fine. The rasp bars are what I would call 70%..I took one out and showed it to my local AGco dealers and he agreed that the rasp bars had plenty of life left. I had no filler bars. We have had rain but I think I will put the 1 5_8 Chaffer in and slow my cylinder down to sub-600. Try opening the cyliner to a touch over 1_2 inch rather than a touch under 1_2. The fan belt looks good but I tightened it a turn or two. I will re-install the cookie sheet and see what I can do..Next step after that might be a R50 I will let you know where I get to after the sun shines...Thanks
