The short shoe uses a 49" long chaffer(total length including rear adjustable section),the long shoe uses a 57" chaffer.

thanks for the info I was just curious. I was also wondering does the extra 8" make a huge differenceIJ Do you gain from this or do you end up swamping the clean grain elevatorIJ I have the bigger clean grain elevator on my machine I think it is 8" wide. Anybody's comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

Curt, The extra 8" does seem to make quit a diff. We build and sell airfoils, and we never seem to have any problems or few questions when a guy puts in a long chaffer, but sometimes we have to help a fella w_ the short shoe make some adjustments---and once in a while we will buy back a short chaffer, if he can't get it to work--which is rare, but it does happen.
