We twisted our crank due to worn blocks so i am familiar with what your talking about. The best recomendation i would have would be using some car wax on it to make it slide nicely without gathering dirt in the lubricant. Good luck
absolutly hate straw walkers, anyway, rotate walkers thru cycle while checking looseness so that there isn't a flat spot on crank. tight one will really make you mad.
