It is not that hard. Replace both belts. Before you start move the variable drive to the midpoint of travel. Don't just rely on the needle postion in the cab visually verify. Step 1 remove the belts up top AC and unloading. Step 2 loosen the xmission and gear shift linkage and put a hydraulic jack under the xmission and jack it up as far as you can. Step 3 remove the variable speed pulley from the mouting yoke. Step 4 replace the belts you will need help here getting the pulley back in the yoke. reinstall the belts on the engine and clutch pulleys You may need help here as well depending upon which one you save until last Step 5 retension the xmission as per the manual and readjust the gear shift linkage and the travel needle on the variable speed indicator. And AC and unloading belts Check the belts after the first day of running Other thoughts. You might also check the traction clutch will your are doing this as well. My 550 had small tires so you might want to remove the drive tire but be safe when blocking the mahcine up. I did this twice in the 17 years I had my 550 which I traded last year_ Good luck and let me know how it turns out. It should take about 4-5 hours.
