Combines Macdon Honeybee

How about the John Deere 936DIJ I took the 936D with a finger reel over the Honeybee or MacDon. The design of the John Deere was simple, strong and dealers close by. I would like the deeper draper (honeybee has) which would have worked nicer on the kochia spots that I ran through the combine. The visability on the JD is nice. The John Deere worked well for me this year. I have seen two 936D's with a bat reel that were used a lot and only visable problems I see is that the tranport pole clevis area is too weak. If you want an inexpensive header, there are a bunch of 970's around that are well used. I think the 972 is a better header. I own a 25 foot MacDon pull type swather with a finger reel and love it - MacDon does make a good swather and I think a new model header would be built very well.

Yea, Macdon makes fairly good products. They also made the 590 JD swather when you used to be able to get a green one, and the CaseIH one if I remember right. One question, Why doesnt Deere or MacDon make a swather head for the self-propelled JD haybine. That would be a good machine with great visibility.
