Originally traded for a 30ft. 1020 head with an option to trade up to a 36ft MacDon. Boy I,m I glad I did that. We run it on a 12 Rowready 2388. It is a flex 36ft. The job it does is beautiful. We have the top cylinder option to tilt the guards back or forth. I ran in the field with a Cat Challenger with a 30ft header. The Cat not a bad machine at all,but We were threashing soybeans notilled into standing corn stalks the Cat head would drag up some as any conventional header, but the MacDon no trouble at all. I know they are expensive but they are worth it. Best of luck to Ya Papaw

We used to run a 1981 N7, and later 36' MacDons on Deere's. I would think that one problem you would have is the unloading auger on the 36'on the 7. The MacDon is a good header, and you will have very good feeding for the 7, but if you can find a 30 ft., I think you would be better off. My 2 cents worth.

I have a 30' and 36', the extra 6' is on the right side of the head. I believe that from the feader house to the left is the same. 36' can be a pain to move down the road, but if you are in open country I would go with a 36'. Around here (SEK) 30' moves a whole lot easier.
