John, The cylinder machines can handle nearly all crops by simply making adjustments. Very few changes in hardware are required. The adjustments on the rotaries kind of fall short and hardware changes are necessary for best performance. If you have a wide variety of crops and conditions and really want to run the factory configuration, I would stick with the 7720. It's a well built machine in most respects and will get the job done. However, if you insist on maximum performance and enjoy working toward that goal, a rotary is probably the way to go. Your answer probably lies more in understanding your own personality than in finding examples of people who have switched brands.

well said john....we have run both rotaries and conventionals at the end of the day red green yellow all depends on the person in the operater seat..sure some machines give trouble more than others but then so do people..but serious depnding on what you harvest and whether you switch from one crop to the other then back again both do a excellent job has long has u are happy with your choice good luck

The rotaries are great corn shellers and will damage less grain and beans then the conventionals. Find a good experienced CIH operator and take his advice. Setting them up right is not brain surgery but you do have more options and more things to screwup. Using your conventional experience can cause problems with the rotary.

I have ran conv. Massey's for 30 years until this one when I bought a 1440 with 3300 hours on it. I am well pleased with this machine, easy to service, set and real smooth to operate. Have ran over 300 ac. and only had to replace the bearing in the air conditioner compressor. The machine had been well taken care of and in good shape. One of my best buys. You'll like it. Junkman
