Dairyman, I have done this on an F2 and N6 and both times I separated the first six rows. On my N6 I did this to both the corn chaffer and small grain chaffer. I usually start at 3_4" on the front and 1_2" on the center and back with the fan choke wide open. This has given me a very clean sample and more capacity. I don't have any experience with oats.
