Combines Massey and Fendt combines in Europe

I worked with the introduction of the Fendt combine in Germany. In terms of threshing, seperation and cleaning systems, there are no differences at all between Fendt and MF combines. The Deutz engine in Fendt is controlled by computer (EMR),wich means the engine has a very high torque at working revolutions. The combine is controlled by the Fieldstar terminal, there are hardly any pushbuttons left in the cab. From operators point of wiev, it is a exellent machine, easy to operate and many clever features. The electronic header controls is not always working fast enough to cope with the high harvesting speed.

Yes, I demonstrated the combine in corn on a farm where they had a Case 2166 rotary. It was a Fendt 6330, 6 walker combine with 330 hp, with a 6 row corn header. When we hit 9 km_h the driver did not what to go any faster, because he was not used to drive a combine. We had higher output i tons_huor than the Case, mustly due to bigger graintank, 9500 liter on the Fendt. We had less graindamage as on the Case and the same level of losses. The farmer was very imprested by the clean sample and performance, so he bourght the combine.

How was going the Deutz engine IJ More consumption than the Case IJ Did you compare to a big Class, New-Holland, Deutz-fahr or Deere IJ

As earlier mentioned, the Deutz engine is electronicly controlled. That gives very steady rpms when harvesting. That is very important for the performnce of the strawwalkers. The design of cylinder, with double raspbars and concave design to begin the thersing at a early stange on the concave, makes the whole combine power effecient. 330 HP is plenty for that combine. We did not compare the fuel consumption, but in general the Deutz engines are very fuel effecient. The German agricultural magasin Profi made a comparison test with the brands that you mentioned. You can get the results from www.profi.com. It was published in November magasine 2000.
