Nathan, all I want to comment on is general appearance. It does appear larger though I will say that much. I always liked the massey appearance over the challenger. This one was in challenger skin and it looks really nice but it also looks heavy.

Did it have that funny auger where it connects like the auger on a grain buggyIJ If it is then it is the combine in the link someone gave on this site. I sure hope it has more cleaning area and kicks the $hit out of everyone at farm shows like FPS. Take care, Nathan

Nathan, it had a cover over that area so its not visable, but I never seen the 90 degree gearcase as on other makes. looks as if the flap folds out with the auger. I do have a feeling they are doing it different than the turret style gear head. Probably something simpler for maintance issues.

Did you see it with the hopper extensions up and if it did was it centered on the machine rather than the offset apperance, to me being centered is nicer looking, no effect on capacity or function, just apperance.

Its bigger and looks more centered yes. But remember the 1600's IH's. They werent centered either, not sure if they are now although they look more centered than they used to be.

The Massey photos in the link below show an open hinge type of unloading auger. The related advantage of straight out grain flow would probably never overcome the disadvantages of grain loss and inconvenience of having to keep the auger out in working position when unable to finish unloading the tank. looks like a cheap idea that will not be very well accepted in real life harvesting when compared to the convenience of an enclosed turret design.

No good excuse for not being on here more recently. Been working on ASAE 055008 paper proposal for header standardization related to interface with header trailers for transport and feederhouses for easier interface between all combines. It would be good if those in favor of this standardization would recommend that their dealers also. I've also been arranging combine factory tours for February _ March so our Indiana, OH, KY, MI farmers can take this appeal directly to the manufacturers. Sure should improve safety and convenience for farmers.
