No combines are manufactured there now. The series you mentioned were made there into the mid 1980's I think. Current Massey rotary combines are made at the Hesston factory in Kansas. After the factory in Brantford closed, I was told there were other companies supplying parts. Don't remember any names. Others here may be able to give better info.

I remember from the plant tour that the rotary threshing mechanism are shipped into hesston complete from Hungary. Now, that's for the masseys....and about 2 or 3 years ago. The gleaners they make right there in the plant. Kinda amazing seeing silver and red machines going down the same line. I never thought a place could do that and keep thier lefts left and rights right with the mixing of two colors but they seem to do a right fine job with no problems.

Frank Hasenfratz (check spelling) from linamar Mfg. of Guelph and Vicon Industries purchased the 9700_9720 and 9500_9520 rotary technology, jigs, fixtures and tooling from the recievers of White Farm Equipment and commenced assembling the combines at Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. Much of the machining took place in Guelph, Ontario and Hungary, since Frank originally immigrated from Hungary; - Portage la Prairie served as a final assembly destination. FYI - Portage la Prairie also built the Massey swathers and a round baler for Vicon at one point. AGCO purchased the rotary combine and swather technology, while (I believe) Buhler ended up with the round baler.

As for Buhler, he just stole the Baler, never paid Agco a cent for it. I wonder if Agco even knows thisIJ Big companies , things get lost in the shuffle.
