I have run the older IH rotary, but not a 2388. I like the MF 1st it has a very good rock trap, 2nd it is vary easy to get to the rotor with large accesses door, the new one 9690 and 9790 have some feature that look like would be good for specialty corps or the rotor, The rotor drive is very good and I like rotor reveres. The engine is Cummins like case use 5.8 liter in 9690 and a little larger for 9790. The feed impeller in front of the rotor keeps crop following (unlike case) into rotor. I think Cases AFX would feed closer to MF. The case some thing that are a lot better then MF, but what I have seen the 9690 has little more capacity then 2388 and 9790 is bigger. Swtvid

Actually 9690 has an 8.3l Cummins w_285 hp, and the 9790 has an 8.9l Cummins w_330 hp. MF combines are the simplest machines on the market, fewer belts, chains, auger and gearboxes than competitive models.

I have heard much about the new Massey rotary. I think you will like its simplicity over that of the new AFX or even Axial-Flow. They are also such beautiful combines, too. The thing you really need to consider [and I'm sure you have already] is dealer support in your locale. Good luck.
