Combines Material input surging

Culprits could be the lack of multi-fingers across the auger.

If the problem is not uneven feeding the rotor may be losing its grip on the mat of material going through the machine. May need to check the vanes, elephant ears and rub bars for wear or you could try tightening up the concaves a bit. Just a shot in the dark.

A common surgury in this area is to remove two (opposing) of the four vanes (elephant ears) on the forward end of the rotor. Newer machines only have the two. Also a rock-trap attachment provides another front beater that helps to move grain into the forcing cone. You might check for holes in feeder house bottom and for holes in the forcing cone.

Yes I do have the driven rock trap. The ears are good. I am mainly noticing this in really good going beans (dry). It really does run smooth though. THanks
