That is the curtain that is talked about that is down for small grains and up for corn. I did small grains with my M2 and found marginal difference of up or down. I finally removed it and never had any problems. It might make more difference depending on the crops. Corn and soybeans have no use for it.

The rule of thumb around these parts was down for small grains, mid position for soys, and up for corn. The Pacer ran in the red when we forgot to lower it.
