I need to know what is going on first,it might be something easy to fix. I get alot of guys think they are having power shift problems and its the shift linkage. You should put grease or some type of penitrating oil on on the linkage where it runs through the frame every six months or so.If the power shift valve does not go fully in the next position the shift can be rough and cause problems.Take off the filter on the right side (trany)and see whats in it,it is a suction filter and look on the inside.let me know what you find .If you would like to call at 1 509 520 5474 that would be fine my name is Steve or I will check this sight good luck

Most of the time rough shifting is the problem and a few times there has been a pause (30 to 60 seconds) before you feel the shift. If the pause is longer I will shift back then try again. Your advice about greasing the linkage might solve most of the problem since I have never lubed the linkage. Thank you!

I run four 4000 series tractors and had to take apart my linkages and use anti-sieze and them, ever since then no problems. Before I did this, every spring they were stiff and caused the problems you are describeing.
