I'm quite certain that you could swap the plate_housing which bolts on the rear of the engine block to make it compatible. Be aware that there is a procedure to check that the housing is concentric to the crankshaft. When you but this housing new, you need to drill your own dowel pin holes to locate it true. Other than this plate, and possibly the water pump area, the engines should be identical.
