That sounds like more than I'm prepared to pay. I'm running a '79 gear drive with about 3500 hours on it, came out of Nebraska. Paid $3900 for it with a 12' head about four years ago. Since I've owned it I've replaced probably every belt, the water pump, and the feeder house chain and bearings. I put about 100ac thru it a year. What year was yours, how many hours on itIJ We have got used equipment dealers in our area that run out to sales in the mid west and buy up used combines for resale here in the norhteast. Got one guy here sitting on two '86 models trying to get big bucks for them.

I would think a 750 or 850 could be bought for the same money as a 550 and be a better machine over the long run. most of the big guys here have outgrown these size machines away long ago and with so few smaller farmers buying, the market for them, especially being an off brand here in IN is very soft.

I have a 1984 M.F. Gray Cab 550,gear drive, with 1143 cornhead, 18.5' 1859 grain head with UII reel that I will sell for $ 5,000.00. Combine was purchased new, has about 1900-2000 hours, and was always shedded. Everything works. located in S.W. Minnesota.
