Do you have cover plates on the concavesIJ If not, I suspect that would help.

No I do not. I have not really looked at them because I have switched between corn and beans every other day. thank you

How about a round hole lower seive. It will cause more returns but the beans will be cleaner.

Switching that often makes it kind of tough. You might consider installing the hardware for them and then only actually use the cover plates when you have to. Most of the time you can probably get by without them, but sometimes you just need that extra measure of threshing if you have green pods. I'm not sure how else to get it without causing splits. Between the proverbial rock and hard spot I guess. As for the lower sieve, we have the adjustable airfoil from loewen. It forms a pretty round hole that can be adjusted just slightly larger than your largest beans. Of course, some unthreshed pods still get through. I would think that this sieve would open up plenty for corn when you make the switch.

I also run a std rotor and had the same problem last year. It helps if you add the wires back in the 1st and 2nd concave. Although this will cause you to lose a little capacity in corn. Maybe want to try just adding the wires in the 1st concave!

I don't know if this will help you out or not but aalmost every year when we start soybeans we have tto put the first (and sometimes the second) small wire concaves in. After a day or to of combining the beans dry out a little more and sometimes we'll have to pull them out and put all large wires in.
