I would probably buy the 2001, because the 2000 STS had some bugs in them that had to be fixed in the field. My neighbor has finally gotten the bugs worked out of his 2000 model 9650 STS They should have gotten this stuff fixed by the time they got around to building the 2001 model. If you buy the 2000 model I would make sure the dealer agrees to correct these problems before it is delivered.

The 2000 models STS wore very bad in the concave area. Our dealer got about 20 back on trade and fixed them for $ 15,000 per machine paid by the company. JD promised to improve the 2001's.
