We tried this 3 ways--removed every other tooth as you had done, and probably had the same results in small grains. We removed every 3rd tooth, and things improved somewhat, but the best result was using a worn bar and building up every other tooth and leaving worn teeth between them (1 pass of hardmetal to hold them at that height)-- Really ugly looking bars, but fairly effective. hope this helps some.
