Combines Moisture Meter

You might want to contact Ag leader about your problem. I don't have their tech support number handy, but you can get it off of their website.

Did that this morning. Struck out. They will talk only about Agleader plated units, even though they made the Case unit I have. Thanks just the same.

Red, Purchase a side(right not left) mount kit from Agleader this mounts the moisture sensor on the outside of the clean-grain elevator (at eye level from ground). It's about $500. You use the moisture sensor you have now and attach it to the side mount unit. Under the auger mounting collects fines and gives poor readings in anything but perfect conditions..

that is what usually happens in wetter corn. it builds up moisture or sap on it. that is why they have gone to side mount moisture sensors. hope you are getting about done . i'm sure this has to be a long harvest. happy new year regardless. did'nt sound like santa was good to you if you are still combining.

RED, I have to agree with Skinnbone, go with the so called "Elevator Mounted Unit" for the moisture. This unit has a cavity that collects the grain to get the moisture and when it gets full a proximity switch turns on a small auger that returns the wet grain to the paddles that are going in the down direction. Also if you go with this unit, I had where I would get a 5% moisture reading and this was a bad ground on the moisture plate. Just had to scrap the little ground cable to get a correct reading. Hope this is of help. ask if you need more. Jack in MN

Thanks guys. I think I will convert it to the side mount. I understand that you don't have that piece cut out of the inclined auger for the side mount. My inclined auger is just about worn, I have 400 acres left to do. Hopefully I can finish this year and change the moisture reader to the side and go with a full flight auger. It's been a real long haul this year in Ontario.
