Generally, I have had good service from our dealer in stocking parts etc. However, you do run into snags such as you have. I had to order a belt off a 914 for the feeder - it would have took $234 and two days. I found the same belt in a junk yard for $25. The N6 combine is 20 + years old. In our neck of the woods - there isn't many of them left (I have the only one I know of)thus not worth stocking the parts. That's why I'm sure to do a thorough off season inspection.

rate of raise and lower is adjustable as it is same valve as l,M.R50-up, sounds like the accumulator is open - or a pinched line - when you energize the master and raise, or lower there is or should be an immediate action. When raising is the problem, look under hyper mods and we have posted there the solution under header valve. To speed up the variable speed drive, push the button. There is a lock out on the VS for when using the grain table. It is on the VS upper drive end. Refer to op man. Agco ships all parts the same days as ordered. UPS ground might take 3 days in some parts - ship Mon-deliver Wed. BTW UPS overnites anywhere for a fee. There are many shippers, many time schedules. We have a belt in stock - aint sold one in 6 yrs. By the way - there are 3 aftermarket companies that sell the 71316268 belt - one is deere through AandI And I agree with you - if I had a BUNCH of acres to go over - I too would be glad I had more than just a 25 yr old machine to depend on.

I can't say enough good about AGCO parts service. I run a l3 and if the dealer dosen't have it in stock I can have it delivered to my door the next morning UPS overnight air. It was the same way with the very old Massey Super92 I used to have. The shipping does cost but so does down time and driving to the dealer. I know that Case doesn't offer service like that and Deere isn't much if any better. I have never been held up by a break down because of AGCO's parts service, I think the rest of the industry could take lessons from them.

Thanks for the help. I will check those things in the morning. He went to a junk yard to get the belt. What dealer do you work at or runIJ

We can get parts overnighted from Batavia directly to the house. They never have to go through the dealers hands if its a dire need part. Had a side window bust out on the Fendt and called the dealer around 4:30 and by 8 the next morning one was sitting at the back door. Can't beat that. Most of the stuff that we order from Deere is a 2 day wait even if we need it overnight...

Check with one of our Gleaner Gurus on here for North Dakota. I'd be very surprised if those guys couldn't help you and also make it (N6) better. These boy's will look after you and they are in ND. they are 14000 km,s from me and have better service than my 30km away local AGCO dealer!!!(Hint,Hint AGCO!!) Rolf

Dad got his N6 to the field today and it worked great. The only problem is getting enough material to keep it busy in our big drought crop up here(10-20 bushel_acre). Having problems with the reel speed motor. Can I check the wires from the combine to the head with a test light to even see if they are workingIJ Is there a better wayIJ

I had the same problem with one head, whoever fixed the wires before reversed them on the connection - or the other head was set up that way. I had to use the wire tester to see if it worked. Otherwise, the valve in the pump on the head could be stuck but that doesn't happen often. You could jumper a battery to the valve to see if it works.

Parts are becoming a concern. I had a final drive go out on my R62 towards the end of harvest and I could have drove 6 hrs. one way to Kansas City to get it or wait 3 days. OR wait a week for just the parts I needed which were in California. Since I was nearly done I'm waiting for the parts which will cost me over $2,000 less than a complete final drive. I'm glad this didn't happen at the beginning of harvest. I would have thought there would be a few more of these parts around. Maybe they never have problemsIJ

do you want to just speed up the feeder house or the whole headIJ if just the feeder chains then unbolt and flip right hand pulley on front of feeder house so that double belt is on large side of sheave its not recommended to use vs-header drive with strait and flex heads you can purchase a larger sheave for sickle drive on rear of head but this will only speed up sickle if you unlock vs-header drive be very carefull as it has the ability to almost double the drive speed if you are having trouble with straw on cage and no trouble with cylinder loss, you can add cage covers to help straw stay in cage also.... as for parts, it takes me a couple days through the local dealer also but Stu at Central sales in castleton, nd told me once that they could get next day service out of regina SK, dont know if thats still that case due to Home land Security and such feel free to call with questions, not much experience with wheat, but we run 2-N7s august wieser rosholt, sd 605-537-4526 home 877-846-2266 cell
