We found the same thing last year. They are opposite to what we are used to, but I think either deere or new holland are the same way. You can go into the handle and switch the wires, but you probably do not want to go there - warrenty plus may affect other functions. After 10 hrs or so you will be used to it.

It's a pilot control feature, kind of a crossover from airplane controls. Pull back on the stick or push back on the button, it goes up, and forward sends it down. They probably did it for the sake of continuity as the controls went from a horizontal to a vertical configuration.

Deere is the same as Cat-back asswords. I operate both and its very confusing. NH is correct. push top of rocker switch is "up" and push bottom of switch is "down".I'm a pilot too. I guess I have no problemjust so they are all the same.

Multi-function handles need to move to a new generation. There is getting to be toooo much on the right side. Future seats will have two joysticks, with the left one controlling three unloading auger functions.

So, how is an operator supposed to keep one hand on the steering wheel to maintain control of the combine and miss the grain cart tractor tire when that driver isn't paying attentionIJ Also, by putting the controls on the left arm rest, that is something that has to be folded out of the way to exit the cab and fold down when getting into the operators seat and ready to operate the combine. Too much hassle in my opinion. Put the unloading auger controls on the floor and operate them with your left foot. MUCH SAFER!

Amen, NH has done this since 1975. The newestmodels have two foot pedal functions. one for each foot. Having the on-off switch for the unloading auger is much better being on the right. You don't have to worry about someone in the salesman's seat being in the way.
