I have been looking to buy either a 150 or 170. Asked a few guys that work on them and they say to keep away from them. Most of these tractors here are used with loaders which is great with the shuttle. I think if I buy I will go with a 89 series magnum they have been around a while. It depends on yourself and your uses. The older magnums are mainly a field tractor and have alot less garbage on them.

I'm not sure why they would say stay away, we've had one of the first MX170's and it's currently done nearly 4000 hours, the MX Maxxum is an improvement over the older models. I'd certainly consider another although now it's also possible to have the McCormick version.

I would be using the tractor to pull a sprayer, bale, swath, and pull a 25ft no-till drill. I have a 4455 mfwd and really like the size and its versitility. I have converted a 35ft sweep plow into a rolling coulter liquid fertilizer machine. I am going to hook a 1000 gal liquid tank on it. We rented a 37ft DMI with a 1600 gal tank last year and our 4455 handled it, not great but my machine should pull easier.

I think the Mccormick line is the smaller MX models. The 150-170 has the magnum rearend. I am sure that these 2 models will stay in the Case line. The mechanic in my dealership said they have had alot of problems with these models. And I see alot of them come and go. It's great that you have a good one.
