I know they aren't combines and that this is really a combine site but this is best site that I have found on the internet for discussions. I really dont know that much about these tractors since my newest tractor is a Ford TW 35 and I would really be glad if someone could share their knowledge on these tractors.

We have a MX 240 and just traded up to a MX 270, i know you will like the tractor as much as we do, after a day of working in it you feel as good at the end of the day as you did at the start, the cab is clean comfortable and very quiet although there is quite a hydraulic pump whine to it. There is lots of power and everything in the cab is laid out nicely. We have driven an 8400 Deere but we preferred the MX 240 for a couple of reasons we got a much better deal on the 240 versus the 8400, less hours and newer tractor to start with and the money difference to trade our older tractor off on the 240 versus the 8400 was about $20,000 less also. As far as resale goes the new Magnums are every bit as good as the Deeres, i hate to say it but there are fellas that will pay more for green paint cause they say they hold a better trade in value but when you pay more to begin with you need that extra at trade in time. let me know if you need any other answers and i hope i have helped a little bit, try them both and see which one you prefer. let me know here if i can help you out with anything else.

We leased a MX270 in Jan. of last year, then we leased a JD8410 in Feb.(we like to do business with both dealerships in town). We pull the same size implements with both tractors. We have 2)CIH3950 33.7ft. disk, and 2)28ft.Triple K feild cultivators. We use them side by side in the same feilds. My guys argue over who has to drive the 8410. They say the MX270 is much more driver friendly. They say it shifts smoother, has a quieter cab, better A_C, doesn't power hop as bad, and has smoother operating hydrualics. I keep up with the fuel logs, and the 8410 is KIllING ME. The MX gets much better fuel economy. I've put 35 less hours on the JD and burned about 500gal. more fuel than the MX. I'm glad that I got both tractors, that way I'll know next time to stay with RED tractors, and put the GREEN in my pocket. In case anyone thinks I'm green bashing, I run four older JD(4960, 4955, and 2-4850's) and really like them. I just think that CIH has really produced a fine tractor in the MX series. Good luck with whatever you choose, we all could use a break.

When we were looking we found this link. We were looking at smaller tractors but this is exactly what you are looking for.

Thank all of you for your input on the tractors. Is there anybody in Kansas, I could share a tractor with, to cheapen it up for both sidesIJ We would need it in fall for about six weeks. The rest of the year the other party could have it.
