Congrats on the new machine. I look forward to hearing how it does this year. The constant speed rotor has my interest...seems like a fundamentally sound way to go.

Tony don't let them get you down. You and I have got something in common. We are both awaiting our machines of course now you got yours but mine still awaits. I noticed case had a new machine out, and a close friend talked me out of it. But I still have it a shot and determined I needed something with more horse. And I don't want to start any wars, but personally the looks of the 8010 looks like something from outter space. And I dont say that as a good thing. It seems everyone has such good looking machines then case does this. But anyways I'm getting my new cat 485R possibly tommorow, so like you I just cant wait. The people on here are just jealous, you can imagine the grief people put me through since I bought a combine that is a considerable higher priced and what some call king of all combines. I just cant wait to get it, and sorry if it sounds like I'm bragging, but this is about as excited as an 85 year old can get. good luck tony

Congrats tony!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to see the pics of the making of your baby and the delivery. I have been tracking all your posts about the new 8010 and your posts have kept me wanting to here more. I bet the new styling really turns heads. I used to run an old 1460 and I turned heads, but in opposite directions. And that new spacious cab would come in handy when the mrs. wants to come. Please tell us more about it soon .

thanks olefarmer I lost my father in december last year he was 89 and 2 months old. he loved to farm and new equipment more than anything, that carried over to me. we went together to see the 8010 last fall. he had his gallbladder out earlier in the fall and was feeling OK and wanted to see this new combine. I rode first then he did. when he came to the end he climbed out on the ladder pulled up his pants like he always did. I ask him what he thought and he said "the only thing wrong with it I didn't have one" I ordered it a couple days later. Now the only thing is he's not here to share it with. I hope you enjoy your 485, and don't pay any attention to what anybody else says about it.

Tony sorry to hear about your dad. I'm lucky to get to live my dream of runnning my new machine. Well hopefully, when you get as old as me you take it one day at a time. I just wish I had a son like you that took interest in farming, unlike my children who just want to park me out in the pasture to rust to pieces. Hopefully I will get to run it this fall if my children do not interfere. Dont let these guys bother you. You sound like an exceptional man.

I don't want to start any wars either but I would think that a person would be more interested in the quality job a machine does along with ease and availbility of a dealership with parts. Not the cosmetics of it. I never was one to buy a piece of machinery for the pomp and circumstance like I'm hearing here. Oh, and FWIW, lil bro bought a 2388 this year so I've got pretty good reason to be snooping around reading here. Just in case you were wondering.
