Feeder capacity can and has been increased dramatically without making it wider (Gleaner knows about it and it is a hot topic). Some cylinder options out there do the same. The Bison uses twisted pegs to fluff material in very deep area and the twist keeps the material moving. I don't mind more power and wider cages ect. but I don't think we've used up what is currantly available yet. I hope we see some new 35'or larger headers soon for I believe it is time.

Up until about 5 years ago, when we'd rebuild a cage for a P1, we used a pattern with offset openings of the 1" square holes. Separation improved, sometimes dramatically, because we were able to eliminate solid margins on cage doors, etc. (not forgetting that the cage surface and edges of openings were new, as well). We also had a little more agitation from the offset pattern of the steel. Haven't as yet tried this on P3 cages with 1" X 1 1_4" openings, but that's probably next on the agenda.

We had a guy blow up seperator cage of old P1 in edible beans a few years ago (prior to sweeps) and he ended up picking up one of your off set hole cages. It looked very cool and worked fine. The shame of it is the combine had a fire and ended up out of our area when repaired. I can see where it could offer more seperation and boy if you coupled it up with sweeps and or flat mounted bars. I havn't come up with plan for sweeps on P1 yet and need to. I'll have to get them guys to spring for your rotor or maybe shrink seperator side of there old one with P3 stars so maybe my sweeps could be used. like you mentioned in a post awhile back what is the full potential with the diameter and length we have!!!
